I’m Jay Virdy, a search entrepreneur with a passion for data mining, social media, cloud computing, and semantic web.  I was the CEO and Co-Founder of Summize, a ground-breaking, real-time conversational search engine which was acquired by Twitter in July 2008.

Prior to Summize, I built and led the Search Engine team and the Search Analytics team at AOL.  These high-profile teams supported the flagship AOL Search product as well as AOL’s successful SEO and content strategy initiative.  I arrived at AOL in August 2000 when they acquired my first startup, LocalEyes, a local search engine I launched in 1996.

In this blog, I’ll share my starup experiences and I’ll occasionally talk about new opportunities and trends I see on the horizon.
